When you're in the process of coming to teach in China, you'll have to mail some important documents internationally. Here's the important information you need when mailing documents internationally.

General FAQ

What do I need to send International Mail?

  1. Envelope.
  2. Addressee’s name.
  3. Street address or P.O. box number.
  4. City or town, province, state or county, and postal code.
  5. Country name.
  6. Tracking number.

What happens if mail is undeliverable as addressed?

Mail that is undeliverable as addressed is forward, returned or treated as ‘dead mail’. You should contact the carrier if your mail has not been delivered.

How long does international mail take to ship?

Mail sent through standard shipping typically arrive in about 1 – 3 weeks. This does depend on your carrier. First class mail delivers generally between 7 – 21 days, this depends on their express service.

What Is a Waybill?

It is a document issued by the carrier with details and instructions related to the shipment. It is similar to a courier’s receipt. It helps to ensure a timely and secure delivery.

We only use three carriers when shipping documents to our offices in Beijing: DHL / FEDEX / EMS. Any other shipping carrier could result in your documents getting lost and starting the process from the beginning. China has a good relationship with these carriers.

As you are only shipping documents, you need to pay attention to ‘International Mail’.
