School Description

ABIE opened its first center in China in 2009. At present ABIE has over 80 centers in tier 1,2 and 3 cities around China. From our Shanghai Head Office, we manage the brand expansion and image, assist all centers with training, material development and overall center operations. ABIE plans to include up to 200 centers by 2017. ABIE English Training is based on an American Educational System style, but specially adapted to meet the needs of our local Chinese students. ABIE English classes follow and aim to employ the latest educational psychology and styles for Young Learners English training. ABIE takes constant steps to include 21st Century Skills into all our training programs.

Details of Position

As an ABIE teacher, your responsibilities will be to plan lessons according to our ‘Starfall my world English’ books, teach classes, attend school meetings, attend marketing activities for the school and give the students a fun learning experience.

We expect our teachers to be responsible, imaginative and to provide a nurturing environment for our young learners.

Requirements to Teach English in Luzhou, China:

  • Speaks English at an Idiomatic level.
  • Degree: BA or above (Education, linguistics or English degree given top priority).
  • Experience: TEFL / other teaching certificate or 2 years teaching experience required.
  • Relocate: Must be willing to relocate to China.

Responsibilities for Teachers in Luzhou, China:

  • Student age range: 3 – 12 years old.
  • Class size: 6 – 12 students per class.
  • Class length: 45 minutes per class.
  • Working Hours: 40 hours; office hours and teaching hours (days off stipulated in interview).
  • Curriculum: The Kindergarten uses ‘Starfall my world English’ as their curriculum, it is provided by the school.
  • Chinese Teaching Assistant: You will be assisted with a bilingual Chinese teacher.
  • Training: Initial 7 – 10-day Junior training, monthly training online

What We Offer our Teachers:

  • Flight: One way flight to China will be provided by Career China.
  • TEFL: Free TEFL Program provided by Career China before arrival.
  • Visa: Sponsored legal Z Work Visa.
  • Arrival: Airport Pickup assistance.
  • On boarding: Ground service assistance.
  • Insurance: Basic health insurance.

Your compensation will include:

Net Monthly income: USD 2450 – 2600 (RMB 17,200 – 18,200) after tax

  • Base Salary: USD 2280 – 2420 (RMB 16,000 – 17,000) after tax *
  • Housing: USD170 (RMB 1200) after tax
  • Contract Completion Bonus: USD 860 (RMB6000) will be paid for 1 year contract completion,
  • Contract Renew Bonus: USD1400 (RMB10000) will be paid for contract renewal.
  • Bonus: Monthly bonus for every class after 6 classes: USD 140 (RMB 1,000) *
  • Bonus: Monthly bonus USD 73 – 290 (RMB 500 – 2,000)

Additional Payments:

  • Airfare completion contract bonus: Provided once contract is fulfilled USD 890 (RMB 6,000).
  • Over time: Paid at class rate stipulated by the school
  • Public Holiday: Chinese public holidays off.
  • Annual Holiday: 5 Paid annual leave
  • Sick Leave: 3 paid days’ sick leave
